Weight Loss Salvation: How Real People Lose Weight and Keep It Off, and How You Will Too

I have been a follower of Stuart McRobert and his books on weight training and fitness for years now. His “underground” appeal and almost cult-like following of fitness enthusiasts gives him the traction necessary to blow the lid off what is the “great sham” of the modern fitness industry. I got an advanced copy of Weight-Loss Salvation and I was at first curious about his teaming up with Bradley Cailor, a virtual unknown in the health and weight-loss industry as Stuart usually prefers to fly solo. But the result is a successful collaboration between the obscure Cailor and the iconic McRobert, as the book is simply incredible. McRobert and Cailor give a virtuoso performance by presenting down to earth facts and narrating the real life drama of how people can “really” lose weight. It also reveals the tragic scams that companies use to play on people’s vulnerabilities to get them to spend money on worthless programs, supplements, and what Cailor calls “Snake Oils.” Not only will the reader find out how to really lose weight, the reader will also learn why the weight-loss industry is a multi-billion dollar business. You won’t find photos of models, Hollywood stars, nor other near-perfect people who never had a weight problem professing his principles or lauding the benefits of the program. This is a real-life, real-world manual on weight loss. His principles are grounded in science and spoken by someone who has been there. Cailor has been obese, and has shed the weight, but not after first trying and failing with the myriad of scams and ill-informed programs out there. Find out how he finally did it by reading the book. I myself do not have a weight problem, but as a health enthusiast and fellow published writer, I couldn’t resist the pull of this book and I learned many new things myself.

This book is for those who are serious about understanding how and why a fat loss program works–not just following steps. The fat loss and training principles described here do work–and can continue to do so over the long haul–which is the best way to apply significant body composition changes. The book demands of the reader the same commitment that was put into creating it. It contains a treasury of information with no space wasted on frivolous charts and pictures, and no attention given to “popular” diets or fast-fad nonsense. Instead, the focus is on a realistic, sustainable approach to health, that entails the critical aspects of food management and impactful exercise (including strength training, in which McRobert is an expert)–all critical components that must be undertaken simultaneously.

REVIEW OF WEIGHT LOSS SALVATION
AUTHORED BY STUART MCROBERT AND BRADLEY CAILOR
Reviewed by Al Chu
Because nearly two out of every three Americans are either obese or overweight, veteran health-and-fitness author Stuart McRobert decided to collaborate with a real-life, weight-loss success story — Bradley Cailor — who lost over 110 pounds of fat, and then comfortably kept it all off. Together, they have produced WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION.
Stuart has a reputation for reaching out to the real-world audience, while keeping his writing simple, easy to follow, and trustworthy. This approach makes his latest book appealing and practical for anyone who wants to lose weight. It’s not just another diet book. This one is comprehensive and truthful, and it includes the psychological and physiological factors that make people fat, and explains how to combat them using a multi-faceted approach.
Here’s just a sample of what this book covers: why most diets fail; medical conditions that cause weight gain; how to deal with food addiction; how to eat to lose weight both at home and on the road; sample meals that are tasty and easy to make; how to identify weight-loss scams; the myth of celebrity health experts; the truth about exercise; which exercises are best for losing weight (and how to perform them); how to make walking burn as many calories as running; how to make it easy to maintain your healthy weight; first-hand accounts of success from Bradley and other real-life dieters; and how Stuart stays lean.
I highly recommend this book as a must-read for anyone who is serious about losing weight.

WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION is a must read for those interested in losing weight
and keeping it off. But it is not a diet. A diet is something that is
restrictive, and short-term. Although people may lose a lot of weight while
on a diet, as soon as they go off of it and back to their old habits, the
weight comes back quickly.
The first part of WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION gives a real-life example of someone
who struggled with weight-loss for years by following many fad diets, only
to regain the weight, but then finally followed the guidance that is in
WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION and lost the weight for good.
Then the book discusses the psychological and physiological factors involved
in weight-loss. I found this to be one of the best parts of the books
because it made me realize why some foods are so addictive. The authors also
discuss how to watch out for scams that are misleading to customers, and why
before-and-after pictures should not be taken seriously. So called
before-and-after pictures can be taken on the SAME day by a good
photographer using a few photography tricks, and make the person concerned
appear drastically different even though no weight has been lost.
And then the book carefully explains PRECISELY what you should do to lose
weight and keep it off. By following the guidance in WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION
you will learn how to lose weight and keep it off WITHOUT having to deprive
yourself of the foods that you love, and WITHOUT having to follow an
excessive exercise plan. The approach promoted in this book is practical,
realistic, enjoyable, and thus effective. I highly recommend it.
